Celebrate Summer With These Two Timely CDs

Celebrate Summer With These Two Timely CDs

It’s summertime, and the livin' is easy when you listen to these two timely CDs.

Music & Mojitos recently got its hands on Another Banana Split Please No.2: More Gems From The Good Old Summertime and Tropical Trips Vol. 1. Both CDs come packed with the unforgettable sounds of what we come to expect from our favorite season of the year.

Vivid images of sandy beaches, volleyballs, and of course, mojitos will come to mind when you pop these bad boys into your car. Don’t be surprised if your ride pulls an Optimus Prime and magically transforms into a T-bird as you take it around for a spin on your neighborhood block. The classics never go out of style, and these CDs prove that they’re here to stay.

Another-Banana-Split.jpg

Another Banana Split is filled with 33 timeless songs that capture our complete imagination. Eddie Cochran hollers the fan favorite hit “Summertime Blues” while Brian Hyland will make you want to throw on your fitted bathing suit as he sings “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.” Typing out that song title will never, ever get old. The Pearls will make you stock up your freezer with pints of Baskin-Robbins to the tune of “Ice Cream Baby,” and Dave York & The Beachcombers will remind you to buy stamps from the post office to send out last-minute invites as “(Let’s Have A) Beach Party” sets the late night mood just right. There’s no doubt about it: Another Banana Split will make you proudly bust out the twist. Even if you have two left feet, you won’t be able to help yourself to these tunes.

Tropical-Trips-Vol-1.jpg

Released by Bear Family,Tropical Trips Vol. 1 was compiled by Merten Kaatz. The CD features 16 tracks from various artists that will bring back memories of the last Carnival cruise ship you were on. Featuring Michael Boothman, Sugar Minott, and Delroy Wilson, the songs on this compilation will wash your worries away. There’s no trouble in paradise when you have Tropical Trips blaring in the background. You might not be able to afford a round trip plane ticket to the Bahamas, but this CD will transport your spirit overseas. Hey, take what you can get.

Another Banana Split Please No.2: More Gems From The Good Old Summertime and Tropical Trips Vol. 1 are currently available for purchase. Music & Mojitos recommends you pick up these CDs to end your summer on a high note (and on these compilations, there’s plenty of them).

Don’t think about putting on your leather jacket just yet, greaser. Keep those summer vibes going by checking out our take on an upcoming b2b set at Electric Zoo: Evolved!
