Shaed Makes National Morning TV Debut Ahead of Lollapalooza Performance
Electropop band Shaed made their presence known on Good Morning America in Times Square on July 29, wowing viewers at home with their stunning performance of “Trampoline.” The occasion marks Shaed’s national morning TV debut, as they head to Lollapalooza this weekend.
If you aren’t an early bird and missed out on Shaed’s live performance, there’s no need to fret. Music & Mojitos has you covered with a clip, provided by GMA. Decked out in red, lead vocalist Chelsea Lee absolutely knocked it out of the park on the mic, while multi-instrumentalists Max and Spencer Ernst were completely in the zone. If the band was nervous, listeners wouldn’t be able to tell.
Shaed’s “Trampoline” continues to be an inspiring Cinderella story. The breakthrough single first made waves in June 2018. Over a year later, the song is remarkably climbing on the pop charts, currently sitting at #27 on the Top 40 , according to Billboard. The band's latest single, "Thunder," joins "Trampoline" on the Alternative chart. The week to week growth of "Thunder" is more than 236%, which proves that lightning does strike twice for Shaed.
The chart-climbing celebration comes hot off the heels of Max Ernst telling his coming out story to Billboard. The 29-year-old revealed to the publication why he felt comfortable expressing himself after Shaed was finding its own unique voice while he was in high school.
"It was a different time, we didn't have Troye Sivan or Sam Smith. There weren't any young gay musical icons at the time," says Max.
Riding a wave of momentum, Shaed is ready to take the stage at Lollapalooza on August 2. The star-studded festival takes place starting August 1 at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois. Other artists who are set to perform include Bishop Briggs, Hozier, The Strokes, and Loud Luxury.
Following Lollapalooza, Shead will be taking the road in September to begin their biggest headlining tour yet. The shows align with their debut LP which is expected to drop later this year. Shead will make their anticipated return to New York City on October 9 at the Bowery Ballroom.
