Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins Created a Tequila Called SummerGods, and it's Delicious

Hold the phone, dear readers—Music & Mojitos just discovered the quintessential music and drink pairing. No, it’s not the ultimate music and mojitos experience like you might be expecting us to offer up. This time, we’re presenting you with the ultimate music and margaritas experience for those rare days when you’re not feeling a mojito.

Multi-platinum recording artist Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind recently created SummerGods, a small batch of premium tequila that Music & Mojitos thinks you just have to try. With its deliciously rich floral notes (see what we did there?), you’ll be living more than a semi-charmed life when you have a bottle of SummerGods tequila in your hands.

The tequila line debuted on July 10 at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar in New York City, followed by another exclusive on July 15 at Rhythm & Spirits in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Jenkins accommodated his dedicated fanbase with bottle signings and photo ops. He poured drinks, too.

It’s been a long and laborious 10 year odyssey for the frontman of Third Eye Blind. In an attempt to find the perfect tequila, Jenkins searched far and wide, before forming a partnership with master distillers Casa Maestri in Jalisco, Mexico. Jenkins first revealed the launch of his delicious product through Third Eye Blind’s Instagram account on June 28.

Never settling for anything less, Jenkins strived to associate his name with a tequila that actually tastes like tequila. When an artist sells over 12 million records, you have to make sure to get it just right. Mint, hibiscus, lychee, cedar, and flowering oregano are all represented in SummerGods, and you’re getting hints of spiced caramel, plantains and vanilla bean, too.

SummerGod’s finish is smooth, just like the “How’s It Going to Be” singer’s stage presence. Music & Mojitos recommends that you sip SummerGod’ neat, or mix it to create a fine cocktail.

Now that National Mojito Day is over, it’s time to get your tequila on and enjoy live music. Third Eye Blind is currently in the middle of a rockin’ tour with Jimmy Eat World and Ra Ra Riot. The remaining dates can be found below.
