What To Do in New York City This Weekend: March 22-24, 2019
Hey, New York! Need a little inspiration to get you over this Hump Day? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered - our weekly roundup has returned with the best things to do, see, and eat in NYC this weekend - and it definitely includes coffee, tea and candy.
Friday, March 22
Gal Pals Unite Popup Shop
Head down to the Lower East Side for the Gal Pals Unite Pop-Up, with its special opening night on Friday from 4-7pm (featuring drinks by Drink Ramona and Jus by Julie, as well as a manicure bar!). Support women-owned businesses and spend the whole weekend perusing some amazing brands like June and Joy, Etymology Jewelry, and Rawly Bold.
UpDating at Chelsea Music Hall
Decide the fate of two New Yorkers on a blind date in the ultimate act of voyeurism. In this interactive show, you and the rest of the audience will get to watch as two people meet for the first time, then ultimately decide along with the rest of the audience if the couple have enough chemistry to make it to the second date. It could be awesome…or it could be like watching a train wreck. Either way, we’re intrigued. Click here for more info and to buy a ticket.
Saturday, March 23
14th Annual Coffee & Tea Festival
If caffeine runs through your veins like it does ours, then you’re not going to want to miss this weekend’s 14th Annual Coffee & Tea Festival taking place at the Brooklyn Expo. With over 75 vendors, free tastings, and accompanying sweets and savories, you absolutely won’t want to miss this event. Get your tickets here!
LFA Helping Hands: Hour Children
Join the lovely ladies of Ladies First Astoria as they volunteer at Hour Children in Astoria. Hour Children is an organization that is devoted to helping formerly incarcerated women and their children reintegrate into society. Meet the Ladies First group at Chateau Le Woof for lunch, then head over together to help out at one of three different stations: Arts & Craft, Music, and Photo Booth. Click here for more details.
Sunday, March 24
Dessert Goals Festival in LIC
Dessert Goals is back for their 6th Annual NYC Festival, and we couldn’t be more excited to head over to Sound River Studios in Long Island City. Timed tickets allow you entry into the festival for 1.5 hours, where you can fill up on all of the best desserts NYC has to offer, including vendors like 10 Below, Baked, Dough, Brooklyn Floss, Oddfellow, Tea and Milk, and many more! You also get FREE candy from Red Vines + Sour Punch, a savory Salt Bar to cleanse your palate between bites, an Instagram Garden with cool backdrops, and complimentary beverages from Boxed Water, Sparkling Ice, and Chameleon Cold Brew! Tickets for Saturday are already sold out, so hop on board and get your tickets for Sunday here. The best part? The theme this year is Animal Party, and the very last time slot on Sunday is DOG FRIENDLY. Yeah, you heard us right. Grab Fido, grab your friends, and head over to Dessert Goals. It’s going to be a pretty sweet Sunday.
Jawbreaker Takes Over Brooklyn Steel
You’re going to need the sugar rush from Dessert Goals to give you enough energy to keep up with legendary punk rock band Jawbreaker as they take over Brooklyn Steel. Word on the street (or the band’s Twitter) is that the Saturday night show is sold out, so be sure to snag your tickets for Sunday night here.
