The Best Cosplayers of New York Comic Con 2019

The Best Cosplayers of New York Comic Con 2019

New York Comic Con might have come and gone, but the brilliant cosplay that Music & Mojitos witnessed will live on, forever.

Cosplayers all over the world traveled to NYCC to seriously strut their stuff. From Oct. 3 - 6, pop culture was on full display as your favorite characters from comics, film, television, video games, and pro wrestling were majorly represented. The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center was jam-packed with an endless stream of people who were dressed to impressed.

While it’s impossible to list every cosplayer that showed up to the dance, we’re going to give props to our favorites that we stumbled across. Much like our previous list of The Top 25 Fan Photos of Electric Zoo: Evolved, our countdown is in no particular order.

As always, if you don’t see your picture here, don’t sweat it—go like the Music & Mojitos Facebook page to see our extended album of fan favorites from NYCC!

Now, get ready to enjoy Music & Mojitos’ list of the Best Cosplayers of New York Comic Con 2019!

The Dancing T-Rex

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Is it really a convention (and party, for that matter) if a dancing tyrannosaurus rex made for Internet memes doesn’t show up? Music & Mojitos will never get bored of people wildin’ out while wearing this costume in public. Cosplayers were forced to step it up at NYCC with this dino’s groovy vibe.

Your Favorite Wrestlers From The ‘80s

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Ohhh yeah! While Music & Mojitos saw a cosplayer dress up like WWE WrestleMania main eventer Roman Reigns, nobody captured the coolness of pro wrestling like these two. They did “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Jake “The Snake” Roberts proud. Dig it.

The Badass Sailor Guardians

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Say it with us: Moon Prism Power! While we don’t have the exact whereabouts of Sailor Mercury, Music & Mojitos thinks that these four did more than enough to hold down the fort properly.

The Fun-Loving Harley Quinn On Roller Skates

Photo: Kyle Stevens

This Harley Quinn just inspired a new generation to get into roller skating. The gigantic hammer won’t keep us away—we’re so ready to hit the roller rink. You just let us know when, Harley.

The Pair That Will Make You Look At Super Mario In A Whole New Way

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Who’s ready to start the petition to include this version of Princess Peach and Bowser in the next Mario Kart game? It’s 2019—We think it’s time for Nintendo to switch things up. Okay, we’ll show ourselves out the door. But seriously, 50 Shades of Grey has nothing on the above picture.

The Most.Heroic.Trio.Ever.

Photo: Kyle Stevens

What happens when you put the Green Arrow, Flash, and Arsenal together? An unforgettable combo that will make your hearts flutter. This dark and mysterious picture is the ultimate definition of “squad goals.” Form a line and try to behave yourselves, ladies.

The Guy Who Proved Freddie Mercury Is Alive And Well

Photo: Kyle Stevens

All of the other cosplayers were “Under Pressure” when they saw this guy as Freddie Mercury. He completely NAILED it. Music & Mojitos thinks that you are the champion, my friend. Hey, we cover music and are required to make Queen references, okay?

The Pokemon Trainers Who Are Ready For The Zombie Apocalypse

Photo: Kyle Stevens

How is it possible that even when he’s armed with a chainsaw, Pikachu still looks so damn cute? These guys are going to be catching some zombie heads with what they’re carrying. Music & Mojitos think that they can leave the Pokeballs at home. It looks like Rick Grimes has found his match.

The (Very) Cheeky Harley Quinn

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Harley Quinn is always a popular cosplay option, but when Instagram influencer Abigail Morris does it—you can’t help but pay attention. The New Jersey native knows how to work a camera, and left guys (and girls) in awe. We know there’s an obvious joke about a stiff baseball bat to be made somewhere, but we keep it classy at Music & Mojitos. Take it away, Negan.

A Terrifying Jason Voorhees

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Uh, yeah. We’re never sleeping again. Enough said.

The Shocked Mario

Photo: Kyle Stevens

We’re still actively trying to figure out if this Mario stumbled into Jason, or is trying to make sense of the kinky Princess Peach and Bowser. No matte what the situation is, Music & Mojitos thinks this is an appropriate reaction.

The Mainstream EDM DJs

Photo: Kyle Stevens

We had serious flashbacks of Electric Zoo: Evolved when these two showed up at NYCC. No matter what you think of EDM, these hip and happening kids made even the most serious cosplayers rave in pure delight. We’re so ready for the next bass drop from deadmau5 and Marsmello. Who else wants to fist pump?

The Most Electrifying Cosplayer In All Of Entertainment

Photo: Kyle Stevens

The survey says that this Electra was all the rage last weekend. It’s no surprise that cosplayer Elizabeth Rage (do you see what we are doing with our puns?) brings the scorching heat to the Marvel universe. Rage knows that red is a power color, and its not a surprise that she was in complete control this year at NYCC.

The Johnny Depp That We Need

Photo: Kyle Stevens

While the actual Johnny Depp is surrounded by a lot of legal drama these days, this guy takes us back to a simpler time where Pirates of the Caribbean was fun to watch. Arrrrrr, indeed.

The Sweet Pokemon Girl

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Cosplayer Zoe Volf made us all Pikachu fans at the end of the day. Sorry Misty…keep petting Togepi, because you’ve just been replaced.

The Pair That Makes Us Tremble At The Line, “Hi ya, Georgie…”

Photo: Kyle Stevens

In what’s either the best or worst advertisement for It: Chapter 2, Pennywise and Georgie are making us shake in our boots. THIS is how you do a proper cosplay. Absolutely terrifying.

Your Favorite Dragon Mamma

Photo: Kyle Stevens

It wouldn’t be a proper “best of” list without an appearance from Daenerys Targaryen. After all, winter is coming, ya know.

X-23’s Gon Give It To Ya

Photo: Kyle Stevens

We’re not going to mess with this X-23. She is fierce and ready to put some scratches on ya if you get catty. Music & Mojitos thinks DMX needs to retire and let this cosplayer take the reigns.

The MVP of Hercules…Meg!

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Doesn’t spunky cosplayer Kate Ogden make us all want to dig through our Disney VHS tapes and relive our childhoods? Ogden gave new life to Meg at NYCC this year. Music & Mojitos thinks that Ogden can easily star in a live-action remake.

The Real-Life Wonder Woman

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Lynda Carter, the OG of all OGs—would be so proud if she was able to see this magnificent cosplayer as Wonder Woman. Strong, beautiful, and sophisticated, Wonder Woman is as timeless as she’s ever been.

The Clown Who Put Joaquin Phoenix On Notice

Photo: Kyle Stevens

This is no laughing matter. The above cosplayer had the Joker’s mannerisms down to an actual science. Joaquin Phoenix isn’t the only one who should be considered for an award this season.

The Wickedly Talented Cosplayer

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Imagine saying the title in John Travola’s voice when he introduced the infamous “Adele Dazeem.” Now that we got that out of the way, Music & Mojitos thinks Canadian cosplayer Jillea has it seriously going on. She makes other cosplayers turn green with envy with how she’s able to flawlessly pull off Elphaba.

The Couple That Street Fights Together, Stays Together

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Now this is how you cosplay as a couple. Music & Mojitos can safely report that we didn’t say anyone dress up as E. Honda this year.

The Fight Of The Century: Kim Possible Vs. Shego

Photo: Kyle Stevens

These rivals pretty much stole the whole show at NYCC. Their pose looks like it belongs straight on a poster of a WWE PPV.

The Cosplayer That Made Us Go, “Wooooooo!”

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Speaking of WWE PPVs, this cosplayer must have been Charlotte Flair’s good luck charm on Sunday night. In “Nature Boy” Ric Flair’s words, this cosplayer really is a “stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' and dealin' son of a gun.”

The Holy Villainous (Yet Adorable) Bat Family!

Photo: Kyle Stevens

If this wonderful picture of a dastardly family dressed as Batman villains doesn’t warm your heart, you might not be alive. That baby is going to be an expert cosplayer in about 10 years. Wait and see!

The Dynamic Duo

Photo: Kyle Stevens

These two cosplayers know how to compliment each other really well. You can tell that by the way they strike their poses, they are seasoned vets on the scene. Elif Amelia Pond especially pulls off Wonder Woman with ease. In a heartwarming tidbit, Matt Gnojek is known as the Colorado Captain. He rides his bike cross country to raise money for children’s charities. is the real end game right here.

Our Favorite Prehistoric Cosplayers

Photo: Kyle Stevens

Yabba Dabba Doo! Fred and Wilma Flinstone showed the kids how it’s done at NYCC. They are proof that the classics never go out of style.

The Officer We Would Stop For Any Day Of The Week

Photo: Kyle Stevens

This cosplayer gave Officer Jenny some serious life. Hold Brock back.

The Joker Who Created A Memorable Experience

Photo: Kyle Stevens

The kid who approached the Joker is our spirit animal. She is in awe of not only this amazing cosplayer, but Comic Con in general. Like this curious child, Music & Mojitos will be back next year!

While you’re here, we think you should relive some of your favorite moments from The Big Apple Con earlier this year!
